Kracht is a visual artist, working in video, illustration and animation. Educated in Germany and the UK, she lives and works in Barcelona. Her video-installations and live video performances and illustrations have been exhibited in numerous festivals, art spaces and galleries around Europe; her illustrations have been featured in several magazines around the world.

Exploring tensions between time, space and place, different reality levels, she humourously creates new connections, addressing a collective memory.

Recently Kracht is seeking to draw closer her live (-video) practice with the procedures of illustration and painting. Using painted models and characters as a miniature film set, which she shoots live on stage, creating a new audiovisual language.

As a video artist she collaborates with musicians, dance companies and dancers, architects, visual artists and programers.

a 3 screen play referring to our collective memories. they remind and remember. A revolution on a small scale that doesn't remain in the pictorial exploration of grain or pixel. It looks at the same time for a narrative renovation.

Absinthe drinker deals with the relationship between spectator, artist and collector.
Juxtaposed images and sounds reflect and question Pop and art in general, when young rebels asked difficult questions in the late 60s. Images, referring to the collective memories -as motion pictures, the Beat Generation etc … test the limits of the American Dream.
Disenchantment with the art establishment arose in 1973 when the NY taxi company Robert Scull auctioned his Pop Art collection, revolutionizing the art world. He affirmed that big money would shape and dominate the art world in later 20th century and beyond.

LIVE FROM THE SURFACE OF THE MOON
An Audiovisual Journey through Space and Time

A Mix of Video Footage, Live Animation and electronic Sound Landscapes takes the viewer on a  humorously bizarre and surrealistic journey about new and old theories of our the Moon's mysteries. A small animation set, inhabited by ''lunatics'', is the main scene of this audiovisual performance.

Electronic sounds accompany the actions and build up slowly to proper sonic landscapes

A live video broadcast from the surface of the moon....

.......

Live from the Surface of the Moon is an audiovisual performance, where a mix of old, analogue lo-fi techniques deriving from visual arts and theatre (painting, use of mirrors, mirror, mini-stage, objects, lo-fi theatre lightning, analogue sound recordings) with contemporary live technologies (live camera, VJ tools, live video mix, midi for sound and image) is employed. The result is an organic, surrealistic and humourous journey through space and time. A live broadcast from the moon and the outer space around it.
